Symbolic foundation stone laid of Project Meir in Antwerp: new campus of KdG and department store by 2026. The symbolic foundation stone of Project Meir has been laid in Antwerp. By autumn 2026, the construction site will become a campus of the Karel de Grote Hogeschool, with a department store attached. The college and project developer Meir Corner - a collaboration between Tans Group and Urbicoon - presented the plans on Wednesday.

The current building on Groenplaats is becoming too small. The college will move into the old Proximus building on the corner with Jezusstraat. Some 7,000 students should attend classes there in four years' time. Shops will be located on the ground floor of the campus.
